which pea are you?

k. so this is my furrst blog entry for my new blog. this blog is destined to be a place for me to gather all my very esoteric thoughts and websearching into one place. welcome to my nightmare, I think you're gonna like it. (so said Alice Cooper, the snake eating, chicken head biting - or was that OZZY exclusively? - poison sucking lord of darkness turned crusader of the light himself.) weirdest song off that album was "steven" by far. i wrote a song in high-school inspired by that track. it was called, you guessed it, "stephen". if i don't stop this stream of consciousness stuff right now I'll never get to bed. wow blogging is fun! (did I just say that?) dangnabbit.

so: which pea are you? www.sevenpeas.com ...should we have a "name the pea competition"? a name the bottom competition might be fun too ("it's me who's going to be wearing spotty undies for the next two terms Neil. it's me they're going to be calling 'bogey bum'. especially at the next 'friends of Stalin society show your bottom competition'.") *sigh* i wish there were more episodes. some people grew up watching normal stuff like, ummmm, video hits, or degrassi jnr high! instead, i grew up sharing a bedroom with my brother (4 years my senior), so i was inducted into the cult of the young ones at a rediculously early age. it has left a deep impression on my psyche - such that i have this incredible talent whereby i am able to refer any social situation to a young ones quotation. try me sometime.

my musical introductions (at the age of 10 or so) were eqaually as inspired: Queen, (the early albums of) Metallica, Pink Floyd, Guns 'n Roses (ugh), Alice Cooper, Henry Rollins/Black Flag, and a raft of other wholesome and uplifting muziks formed my head space. (i think i turned out alright though, don't you?) i retreated into 'icehouse' and 'boom crash opera' as means of therapy for a while (a year or so tops, i promise), moved on to 'weird al yankovic' at about age 12. but it wasn't until i was acquainted with Sir Jeff Buckley at the age of 16 that i found my home. (why Jeff? i still light a candle for you).
