Church AGM and some other stuff.

So we had our Annual General Meeting at church on Sunday night, and what a bizarre experience it was. This is the only church I have ever been in that has an AGM which is fun and leaves you feeling positive about the overall health and vitality of its life and mission together. A real buzz. I mean, we spent most of the time talking about whether certain members of the staff are paid enough for the work they do. Sure, there is no mystery about the fact that ministers generally are paid way less than they could earn in other jobs. But no-one enters ministry for the pay, well, some might, but those types usually end up cheating on their spouse as well. Let's just say that I am pumped to be in a church that actually cares for its pastors in a way I've never ever seen before. Sigh, to whom much is given much is required. This Jesus bloke, he makes life tough sometimes - sheesh.

I just wanted to tell you all that I SLEPT IN today! And you know what? I don't feel guilty about it AT ALL. The reason: I preached yesterday, and I felt totally knackered when I woke up this morning, so I decided that I deserved to sleep in, and I don't feel like I wasted the day one little bit.

Nope... nothing, zip, naught, zero...

...ok, so maybe I felt a little guilty, but none of you negative vibe merchants have the right to bring me down about it.
