Wow ... I'm tired
Last night was the first of our church plant gatherings for the new year, and we had a great time... We worshipped, we listened to my talking head for a while, but the best bit was when we canned the agenda and simply waited for the Spirit to speak. And He spoke.
I was amazed at the unity of the words: the prayers, the scripture readings, the words of knowledge; they all seemed to resonate with one another. It was so much fun. I love being with the Saints of God and waiting on the Spirit. It is so life giving.
It is also very tiring. This morning I feel like an elephant sat on me during the night while I was sleeping. I feel encouraged in my spirit, but my body feels like a neglected sack of potatoes. Ah flesh, you are so weak... you need a little pampering... So I have decided that today is all about my body. I am going to sit around and read, listen to music, drink coffee, and generally glory in the sweet reverie of procrastination and spine bashing... I wish.
Actually, I have lots of jobs to do: I am in trouble with my wife for not cleaning my "side" of the bedroom; I have to read about 60 pages of my "History of Philosophy" textbook; I have to publish the transcript of last night's meeting on my other blog; I have to catch up on a million neglected emails; and I have to write a proposal for a new young adults "yoof group" that may be starting at our church.
So without further ado, it is time to stop sitting around on my laurels, quit bludging, and "strike a blow".
Bonza!
