Pandora

This is otherwise known as the music genome project, and is one of the sweetest things I've seen in ages. It's quite possibly the most creative web marketing technique kicking around at the moment too. But that doesn't take away from the coolness factor of fifty billion trillion googolplex.

Whatever.

This cool app asks you to punch in your favourite artist and from that it creates a radio playlist (which you can then listen to) based on your musical 'genome'. Who knew that Jeff Buckley and Jimmy Hendrix were in the same genome, but it actually makes quite a lot of sense. Basically it plays a whole bunch of artists that you may or may not have heard of, that will likely be appreciated by you. And if you don't like the artist you can boot 'em off the playlist.

Placing the power of choice in your hands is what this baby is all about. And hopefully you'll spend a few bucks at Amazon to keep the genome going. Or you can just keep downloading the stuff for free (which is evil and you will suffer a horrible death for it).

Be there or be square.

p.s. - if you haven't yet read this killer blond joke, you should because it is really funny!

I don't get it? Hahaha, I'm not that blonde. I'll have to check out that playlist thing sometime.

So the question is this: how many times did you click? Are you a 2 click blond, or a 10 click blond? That's the difference right there.

I must confess I knew nothing about Googolplexes until I read Safran-Foer's new book: "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" just the other day. The book was a hoot, full of beautiful dense writing. Not quite as enjoyable as "Everything is Illuminated", but still deserves to be read!
