Interview with Bono

When U2 had to cancel their 2006 tour of Australia because, rumour has it, the Edge's daughter was diagnosed with leukemia, Bono granted a TV interview with the enigmatic Andrew Denton on Denton's Parkinson-esque Enough Rope. Denton is a long-time Australian TV personality, producer, and comedian. The title of his show inspires fear and trembling in most interviewees, though it shouldn't as Denton has a sublime way of drawing out the best in people. You could put the worst kind of person on Denton's show and he would likely find a way of drawing out at least some degree of sympathy from the audience. Denton's encounter with Bono is one of the best interviews I've read in a while.

Check it out here.

You can also subscribe to the Enough Rope podcast here.

BONUS: a video of Denton's interview with Foo Fighter's frontman Dave Grohl.

I can often be disappointed with interviews with Bono - a bit flat and one-dimensional or totally dominated by the glass-ed one. this is really cool. good job mr denton, and mr bono too.
